2002 fourwinns 225 sundowner. Replaced perko switch for dual battery's and the post on switch was totally corroded. The # 2 battery seems fine voltage wise but the boat will not start on #2 battery just clicks,I have power when I turn on switch and dashboard but as soon as I turn key it is going dead and battery seems fine. The cuddy cabin lights are not working also and I think that might be in ignition switch?? Any suggestions would help greatly as the boat is on a slip.

When you say the battery voltage "seems" fine, what does that mean? Put a tester on it and try to start the boat or turn on some lights and see if the voltage drops off. You can also take the battery in and have it tested.

Re: starting on # 2 battery

Not a switch issue, the relay is clicking because there isn't enough current to run the starter and relay.
Load test battery or watch battery voltage while cranking, shouldn't go below 9 volts.
Make sure the meter is on battery terminal not the terminal of the cable.
If battery voltage stay's good it's a corroded terminal or poor ground somewhere.
Usually battery problem.

Thanks guy's for the input. I actually had 2 problems and @first I thought it was the battery so I change the connections and then same issue so I went to the perko switch and and # 2 totally gone from corrosion and #1 not far behind. Still had same issue and found that I did not tighten neg. enough and now everything is fine Thank's again.
