Starting problem on a 40 h.p. mercury no trying start

HELLO, l have a mercury 40 h.p. 1992 who doesn't run frequently. The last ride we done, every thing goes good, but the next day we want to go, it never start.<br />The gaz seem to be ok, and l have only a little spark on my plug, so l try to put a electric foam cleaner in my spark cable and l saw foam leaking in my rubber cap plug<br />I dont think the loss electric in my rubber cap is enough to make no trying start in my motor. Can you tell me what was my next step to test. thank you to help and sorry for my english because l speak french

Its possible that your Powerpack or Stator has given out on you...Stator being the common problem..if its the Black one. <br /><br />One thing you can check though by yourself...is the lanyard switch....the thing on the control box that you are to hook onto your lifejacket. Make sure its hooked up.<br /><br />TMD
