Okay, here is my problem. In Holland it's wonderfull weather at the moment. A very good moment to go wakeboarding. The problem is however that my boat won't start.

In the beginning it started occasionally: when I go to turn the ignition all I get is clicks. After several tries it finally cranks and starts. And now the only thing I get are clicks. The battery has a good charge (I tried two). I took of the starter, took it to the specialist downtown. Conclusion:perfect working piece of equipment.

What do I have to check/ repair now? Fuses are OK (Starter clicks).Check the wiring? Where? What?
Is this simply a bad ground. Short circuit? Please help me out. Thanx in advance.

Had the same problem with my truck. It was a bad starter. The solenoid is good since its clicking, but may be a bad spot in the starter. May want a second opinion on the starter.

You might have come up with the answer.
Get a piece of heavy wire and connect to the Negative post on the battery and connect other end to a clean spot on the engine.
Then give it a try.
It is not unusual for the ground wire to get corroded and the electricity will try another route .

Thanx guys.I don't think the starter will be the problem. They are specialized in repairing and they took it apart and tested it also. So the starter has to be fine. It's a rather new one also.

I'm going to give it a try with the wiring and the slave solenoid. Sounds like good options. Let u know.

Too early. The new slave solenoid wasn't the problem. Still got the clicks... I checked the relais (fuse?, (wired them through and even that didn't solve the problem. What else interfears with this circuit? My blower, bilgepump, claxon work well so you can assume the electrical circuit is functioning well.

Does it add something that the boat has been 'under water'? You know the plug-story.

Thanx.

Greetz

I would say starter gets stuck. Have someone starting the engine while you hit softly the starter with a hammer. Mine started that way and I think it was underwater also.

Good luck
