I have a Mariner V6 200 hp 1986. The motor runs "great" out of the water. When I get my boat in the water it only runs to 1700 rpm. First i think it was a fuel problem so I rebuild the carb and looking at reeds when I was at that side on the engine. Next step was the electrical and compression. Compression relative good on all six 120 psi. Then I checked electrical. Triggers ok , Coil ok , spark on all plugs, have hard to se if it weak or strong.
