trying to test the ignition circuit on my 1999 125 merc. the book says that between the green/white and the white/green leads off the stator, it should be between 660-710 ohms. my meter reads about 645 ohms. is this reading within tollerance, and would the fact that it is about 50 degrees outside affect the reading at all.

thanks

Re: stator ohms readings

I think you are alright... There a some variables that can affect readings (temp. and the meter itself)...So yes 50 degrees can affect it. That reading is ok to me.

a bad or loose ground on your switch box can reduce your reading also, tempature is a diffent factor,it should fall between the ranges, how good the meter is a factor also

No problem at all with that reading.I've never figured out why they give you such a small window of readings.Guess they have to stop somewhere.

DHP
