stator on 150 force

Ive got a 1990 150hp force,I put a stator on last year and last week it went out again,lost fire in #1 plug same as last year what is the problem and why do I keep loosing my stators.last week when it went out I noticed my amp gauge jumping around .please help my hole in the water is costing to much to have fun.

august I'm running a one man campaign to eliminate WING nuts on marine batteries.I find loose connections to be the #1 cause of many rectifier/stator problems.Also switchbox/powerpack problems.<br />Help me out here,use pliers on you wingnuts.<br />DHP
