My 1998 evinrude 115 is acting up. Cold start no throttle just a quick hit of the primer and it fires up but spits and sputters for about 30 secs till it warms up then idles GREAT! If i try to rev it up during the first 30 secs it dies but will fire right back up and spit and sputter. It will idle in gear good as well with a small miss every once and a while. Today i took it out and was just cruising around with my buddy. I was running on a plane when all of a sudden it just slowed down and died. I tried cranking it but nothing. So I let it sit for about 30 mins to cool down than tried it again it did sputter like it wanted to start but didnt so we towed it back to the ramp and pulled a plug then hit the key no spark!!! my question is what would just quit like that on the water at full speed my buddy thinks it is my stator what do you think? It has about a 6 month old powerpack fairly new coils
