stator question?

OK,been havin problems with my 95 mariner 150 efi,and have been going thru the prosses of elimination.focusing on the stator now. It specs out on the resistance test according to the manual .My question is can a stator still not function properly if it showes proper resistance?Iknow i need a DVA meter to check out put but would to avoid spending $100 plus on a meter for one time use! thanks for responce.

Unfortunately yes. Did you try the resistance test when the stator was warm as well?<br /><br />TMD

my stator was stuffed and bought a new one to fix it, they both has the same resistance values !
