I have a 1995 70hp Force that won't start. Turns over, but no plug spark. It had a replacement stator ( 398-832075A5 ) about 7 years ago. I disconnected the 4 wires from the stator ( 2 yellows and a green, white and a white/green ) and took ohm readings across the stator. G/W to W/G was "open" and both individually to ground were open. Across the 2 yellows read 1ohm and individually they were both open to ground. Does it sound like my stator is bad?

Thanks, John

Re: Stator resistance question

Looks like your stator is bad. Green/White to White/Green should read 500-700 Ohms.
