i have 2 part question. 1 stator reads 485 ohmns starb. side, 430 ohmns port oem manuel says 560 ohmns +or - 75ohmns motor runs great above 2000 rpms thoughts?and remarks. 2. manual says check i think sensor 4 prong plug from a to b and a to c should read 40 ohmns + or - 10 ohmns starb side a to b 35 ohmns a to c 0 ohmns , port side reads a to b 0 ohmns a to c 32 ohms i am confused:confused: thanks in advance for your help.

You might want to get a sparktester, (only a few dollars at a shop) and check you get consistent spark on all cylinders at idle.

I make that an 83 year.
Those readings suggest your trigger assembly may of had it but then again you may be doing something not right.
If those readings are correct then you wont be getting spark on a couple of cylinders so look for that first

Another reliable test is to do a cranking output voltage test. Pretty easy to condemn a bad stator or timer base that way. You can find your normal test values at this website: cdielectronics.com. For instance, your stator might have to put out at least 150 cranking volts and the timer base perhaps 0.3 cranking volts. Only thing is that you need a special "peak reading" voltmeter, as most don't have that ability. Any reading less than these minimums and you need a replacement part.
