Hi,
I have a 97 70hp evinrude. I was wondering on the steering arm that's is on the motor, that the steering link is hooked to. there are three different holes all in a line , with letters next to them "T" next to 1st hole and "P" on next, and "D" on third .can anyone tell me what they stand for. thanks p.s I guess I need to buy a manual for this motor.

Re: steering arm 3 holes

The inner most hole is for normal cable steering. The P is for power steering. The outer one is for if you have a tie bar for two mtrs.

Thanks boobie. bought motor w/o steering link. so bought one the other day and put it on. after it was on and I was admiring my work  I noticed other holes. then I thought steering link looked at a weird angle.
