How difficult it is to change the steering arm? mine is rusted and worn severely. Someone had told me it may be easier to replace the midsection. I was quoted 800.00 from a marine mechanic to do the job without replacing the midsection, just the arm. Is this average or high. He said it is a day and a half job. I then read another forum and someone had suggested it is a 3-4 hour job. What is your opinion. It will be greatly appreciated. Would it be feasible to attempt this job ourselves or is it not such a good idea. Any direction on how to do this would be helpful so we may make a good decision.
