All,
I just started up my boat the other day. I tried to turn the steering wheel and it would not budge. I tried disconnecting the steering assembly from the engine. I could not disconnect it. I think I broke the steering cable. Do you know any websites or information about how to replace steering cables and/or the whole assembly?

Thanks,
shadowman17

you most likely broke the helm, I did the same thing last year. I bought a new one off ebay for much less than at a dealer. You may have to remove the motor or do like I did and use a chain hoist, unbolt the motor and swing it sideways a little. If the old one runs under the floor tape a small rope to it and pull the old one out pulling the rope into its place then tie the rope to the new one using 3 half hitches with the third one right at the end of the new cable, tape around the end to keep it from hanging on other wires and pull it through.
Gary
