My steering cable is stuck in the tube and was wondering if there is an easy way to remove the steering cable from the tube it is stuck tight.

It won't do any good to say this, but the easy was was to do the regular preventative maintenance and it wouldn't be stuck now. Now it is too late and you will have to beat it out of there and clean the rust out of the tube and re-lubricate.

If there is not enough room to remove it from the tube, you will have to lift the motor off the transom. So be it. No need to disconnect everything, just unbolt and hoist it up.

I agree with F_R...mine was very easy to remove once I lifted the outboard up off the transom.

In my case it had more to do with the lack of flex in the cable and room to pull it, then it had to do wth gunk or being stuck.
