I own a 1994 mercury 120 force. I am attempting to replace my Rack n Pinion style steering cabing. I purchased the exact replacement number ( Teleflex ssc 12415) which is located on both cables. The problem is that the piston end the goes into the tilt tube is 6 inches shorter than it needs to be. I am waiting to hear back from the supplier... any and all help would be appreciated. What am I missing?
