I'm installing an Ultraflex steering cable to a rotary helm. Do I have to take the steering helm apart to feed the cable through? I can feed the cable through allright, but when I turn the wheel to the opposite throw the cable will not stay in the helm. Help.
Thanks
Keysbarry

Re: Steering Cable

KEYSBARRY,
Do not take apart the helm. The cable will not stay in because you have not secured the outer sheath(of the cable)to the helm.It usually is a large aluminum nut or a set-up that locks with a pin/bolt.You must have the outer cable end slightly in the helm before you can install the locking bolt.Good luck. :)
