Have a Lund with Teleflex rack. Question is how is the connection made between the rod end and the steering mount on older OMC outboards that do not have the tube in the transom mount?

What parts are needed?

Have a couple older engines I'm looking at for this boat but they do not have the tube.

Thanks!

Re: Steering connection

Thanks for the pix and link.

Followed the link but didn't see the transom mount the you're using. Is that a Teleflex part?

See if I have the right idea, 1st I need a transom mount, and a support tube. Then a link rod but I can't quite make out how you attached the rod to the engine.

Re: Steering connection

i used a 1 1/2 piece of angle iron. drilled a hole in each side, bolted to motor, then the link arm to the other hole. there is a bracket you may find on ebay, but they are rare. they mount i have is an ez gluide bracket, this one was set up with stick steering.
