I would like to change the steering on my boat, but I'm not sure what options I have. It currently has cable and pulley style steering with spiral looking drums at the helm and on the intermediate housing (OMC stringer). Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Steering conversion

How old is the setup?

You should have many options available. How much do you want to spend? What are you trying to achieve, reduced feedback, less effort?

Re: Steering conversion

The boat is a 1969 model. I've seen a lot of different steering systems but I'm not sure how they would work with my drive. Any pictures or links to different steering systems that will work with my old OMC would help. Thanks.
