I went out yesterday with a few friends on my boat and just as we were about to come in I started the motor and put it in gear and the bar coming from the motor to the hydrolic steering bars snapped off leaving the motor without any control, I have a 1991 200 VRO Evinrude so holding the motor to steer was out of the question and had to be towed in, good thing I have unlimited U.S. SeaTow. But my question is about the bar, what is the right name for it so when I purchase it I'll know I'm ordering the right part, and also it doesn't look that hard to replace but is this a professional challenge or can the do it yourselfer tackle this job?
