Steering on starcraft.

took the boat out and ran great. But when I flip around hard the steering is tough to pull back. On slow turns it's fine. Just when turned a long way. Any ideas? By the way its a 93 starcraft Holiday with a 4 cycl 181 gm 4 cyl. Steers fine till you turn a long way.

the steering system in boats is very simple.

you will have a cable pinch somewhere here...
possibly a corroded cable.

disconect the cable form the yoke at the drive. and from the wheel.

move the wheel and feel for tension. bad,,,,,replace.....good?

check the yoke at the gymbal for the drive movement.

then check the cable it self.....look for sharp turns in the cable....a kink.....and operate the cable and feel for stiffness.
