Steering problem

Today noticed hard steering to port. Then no steering to port. Steered fine to starboard. Somehow managed to make my way across Boston Harbor today by using the wheeel to steer starboard and the wind to blow me to port. Even managed to avoid an LNG tanker and numerous ferries and managed to pick up my mooring. Forward gear to move to starboard and then reverse to move to port. tricky but I did it.<br /><br />Single cable rotary helm (teleflex?. What do you think? Just a new cable or do I need to replace the helm? I'll pull it apart Monday.

You will find out tomarrow when you pull it apart. You forgot to tell us what kind of boat/motor that you have. Sail or power. Those things may make a difference.
