Have 120 HP Johnson out board,,been sitting for about a year now, just got it running but when i tried to turn the steering wheel back and forth the motor wont budge, tried shooting grease in the fittings, pb blaster on the rod, block of wood and hammer, was able to knock it one way then back but still cant turn the wheel, infact i may have stripped or broken the steering gear box as it now has to dead spots where it kinda spins/clicks the catches again,, any ideas on how to free up the steering ? is the steering box repairable ?

I don't know where you would find parts for the box. Sounds like you need a whole new system. About 2 yrs ago you could buy the whole kit for about $190.00. Shop around.

Re: Steering Seized

If you disconnect the motor from the steering, you will likely find the motor isn't the problem, but it could be.
