New to boats and i have ol cable steering on 17' boat, any helpfull hints on ease n er up, conversions etc, whats your thoughts on easy cheap fix or should i suck it up and roll with her
A bit more info would help. It sounds like an outboard. What year and size? If you have a threaded tilt tube, you can just buy a steering kit with new helm and cable. If you don't, there should be an adapter kit to use the new style cables with the older outboards. Iboats should have everything you need. I would look in thier steering section and see what they have.
