The steering rod is jammed in the tilt tube i just the steering cable off and pulled the tube out of the bracket, any easy way to get the old steering rod out of the tube and advice would be helpful!

Not sure what you have done.Have you undone the big nut connecting your steering cable to the outboard? I have removed alot of siezed ones before.If the nut is siezed i just grind two cuts about an inch apart running the whole lengh of the nut and use a chiesel to remove the middle section then you can pry open the nut.Its only aluminium so it cuts easy.Just dont go to deep or you will cut the theads of you steering tube.Then bang the living @#@#@ out of the stainless end.Comes out every time.If rooms a problem take the outboard of the boat.
