I have a "tiller cable" pulley steering system from '69 for my boat and a new steering wheel.

A while back someone said I would need a steering wheel adapter to install the wheel.

Can anyone point me to the one that I will need? The shaft of the steering system is 3/4 inch and the hole on the wheel is 3/4 inch.

Sadly, I know next to nothing about these things. There are too many out there to pick the right one.

The wheel I have is this one http://www.mooneyesusa.com/shop/product.php?products_id=2440

Also, I have a horn button for the center of the wheel (shown in the above photo) but no parts to put it on with. Please advise.

Thank you in advance. :)

I'm thinkin this oughta be exactly what you're looking for based on your picture. The little nub on the shaft is called a key and it slides in the slot on the adpater so it will not spin on the shaft.

3/4" Round Tapered Cast Aluminum Steering Shaft Adapter

3/4" Round Tapered Cast Aluminum Steering Shaft Adapter
These cast aluminum steering shaft adapters feature a 3-3/4" O.D with a 3/4" round shaft provision while providing the popular 3-bolt steering wheel mount. These offer an economical choice for steering wheel mounting and have a low profile.
We offer a very wide selection of steering wheel adaptors to fit most popular applications. What you need to know before you purchase your new steering wheel is just what type of steering post or helm that your boat utilizes. The most common styles are a round 3/4" tapered shaft with a keyway or a square style shaft without a keyway. Most of the steering wheels available are sold without a mounting provision. That's where billet steering wheel adaptors come in. If your boat currently has a steering wheel that is mounted to a 3-bolt adaptor you would need to purchase the appropriate steering wheel adaptor, which will bolt to the steering wheel and then to your flange adaptor.

Here is a side view of how a billet steering assembly looks when assembled. We offer 2", 4", and 6" shaft adapters to accommodate different distances to have the steering wheel extend from the dash. Steering wheel adapters are available in 5, 6, and 9-bolt patterns.

Your Price: $15.99

Thanks for the link. It looks just like what I need.

The other problem is I have the center horn cap with no way of installing it on my hub. Any adapters for that??
