I have a 99 Tracker 175 and need to make my steering wheel upright when I am going straight. When someone was pulling on the enigne there were a couple popping noises and it is not upright when the motor is driving straight. I think I still have full movement of the motor though. The wheel has a center nut and when I remove it the wheel doesn't slip off. Do I need a puller like on a car or is there another trick to removing it? I just want to pull it off and put it on right. Thanks

Re: Steering wheel removal

If someone was able to put the steering out of clock by pulling on the engine, you better replace the entire steering pronto. When it fails you'll do a hook turn at speed. Hitting the water isn't too bad, but going through the gunwale first really stinks.

High horsepower steering is nothing to play with. Make sure it's perfect.

hope it helps (to keep you alive)
