2001 25 hp Mercury tiller mounted on 14' Sundance skiff. Pulls bad left (right turn) while on plane. Adjusted motor placement on transom, adjusted trim tab on motor, some help but not fixed. Any suggestions?

Re: Steering

Hi,
The cavatation plate needs to be no more than 1 in below the bottom of the boat. If this is set correctly the all that is left is to get a tourqe tab from your merc dealer to put on lower unit skeg to make it steer easy. Your arm won't fall off anymore.

Re: Steering

Just a thought: It happens every now and then that the trim tab is adjusted in the wrong direction by mistake.

Do some more experiments, also testing settings that you think is not right.

!! Take care !! Keep a firm grip at all times until you know what happens..

Thanks for the help, I'll definitely re-check the trim tab and proper mounting of the motor. Have fun and be safe on the water!
