steering

i have a volvo penta aq 125 b with the 270 out drive my quistion is when i turn right i go left im new to boating but had a jetski for years the boat is a 84 bayliner cuddy thats had lots of people work on it with differnt ideas throu out the years it run great im just wondering if some where a long the line if the steering didnt get turned around or upside down please any info would help

It obviously wasn't always like that, what has been done recently at the helm station when it worked correctly?

thanks guys the whole thing was upside down
