Re: steps to pulling 4.3 out

i pulled my engine this summer to R&R an oil pan.
my first step was to read and understand the removal and installation instructions that are in the mercruiser service manual applicable to my rig.

basically. for mine. ya had to
pull the drive
disconnect anything that was connected to the engine. ie, wiring, fuel lines, riser to exhaust pipe, water hose
disconnect ft. engine mount and then rear engine mount
and pull the engine after everything was disconnected.

i was able to (and wanted to) pull my engine as a complete assembly.

the service manual for your rig will explain exactly what needs to take place to remove your engine.

Re: steps to pulling 4.3 out

thanks for the input ,looks like i will have help, great, yes i will remove drive, carb fuel lines and elec, and go from there looks like there will be enough room to remove enough parts to pull,i think it will be easier to remove small parts when engine is out,my boat mech. tells me its a 3 hr job, engine will be on dolly, then i can strip motor, see whats good and whats not.
