I was thinking of actors who are stereotyped, and none better than Ned Beatty in Deliverence. Every time I see that guy I want to yell out....."Squeal like a pig boy" :p :D

Adam Sandler, Jim Carey, Jerry Lewis, Andy Dlck, etc., and most other moder comedic actors:

All they can do is contort our bodies and faces, and make farting noises.

Hugh Grant, "I can look sad, can't act, but I can look sad".

Julia Roberts, "I will take up liberal causes and can smile and cry, with my 4 foot wide mouth."

William Shantner and Lenord Nemoy.....

Capt. Kirk and Mr. Spock.

Don't think they will ever get away from these roles. But if it were me......I'd still be laughing all the way to the bank. :)

You can cast Maddonna (sp) as a ********** in a movie but that does not make her an actoress. She doesn't need to act to be good at that. Many of the people in the movies can not act. They just are good at what they are doing. A good actor is on that is a comdian today and a victim of circumstance in the next movie. There are few of these. Who is your favorite?

Re: Stereotyping actors

This isn't really fair to a great actor like Michael Caine, but I just couldn't believe him as Duvall's brother in Second Hand Lions. I kept expecting a British accent every time he opened his mouth.

And I couldn't buy Tom Cruise as a doctor in Eyes Wide Shut or a secret agent in Mission: Impossible.
