Ok Thanks. Yeah that's what I had... I did some cutting and chiselling and got it off. Went to the hardware store and got a new stainless steel lock nut to replace it for now. The replacement nut is a 7/16 x 20 (fine thread).
I may go back to the lock its not a bad thing to have, I would have just ordered a key but I didn't want to wait for it to get here.
