Hi Guys not sure if this is were i should post this! I bought a drive tonite couldnt help my self for the price. Guy told me its a alpha 1 came of a 23 foot scorpion with a 5.7 merc and gear ratio is 1.50. the only # i can find is OB318134 is this a alpha ss? and if so what is the differance from the alpha 1?

That serial comes up as a Mercury 25HP.

I a sure you this is not a 25 horse merc unit lol. That is the serial num from the upper unit weird anyone got any ideas?

Double check the digits. Sometime 3's and 8's can look really close. Double check the letter too.

Sorry guys the serial number is ob818134. So is this an alpha 1 gen 2

Ok I answered my own question it's a r mr alpha one number thanks thumper

If this is the serial, OB818134, it is a 1.65 ratio.

O. Ok would this drive be ok to hook to a 5.7 merc 84 era in a 20 foot wellcraft

The ratio might be a little high unless that is a really heavy boat.

No boat is not real heavy 20 foot wellcraft elite bow rider no sure of overall weight. Hmm we'll the price was rite and can make a couple bucks on resale if cant b used

Were are you guys looking up the serial number to get the gear ratio?

Thanks again. I noticed a remanufacured sticker on the drive so I pulled the top plate and counted gear teeth 22 20 so I'm asumming they just used the case and rebuilt with different gears so good news thank again
