Stern drive service, what and how often?

Hi,

I'm new to inboard motors, and would like to know what is required to service the stern drive? Do they have to remove it to check the internals? What about the impeller, can you visually check it? I don't believe the previous owner did anything to the boat, I bought it with 67hours on the clock.

Boat: 2002 Maxum 1900SR, 5.0l V8, 100 hours.

Here's a link to the O & M guide, it's an '01, but should be close enough if not dead on. There is no way to visually check the impeller except water out the exhaust etc. Every year the Drive should have the alignment checked and the fluids changed. Impeller every other most say.
