I thought I would update my sig in case anyone was having sig pic withdrawls with Ray being in Iboats LIMBO (edited). It's only 20K I think that's within limits...

Here she is, my new baby, 2004 2WD Silverado XCab Flareside, 5.3L V8. Tow package of course. If you look closely you can just barely see my yellow and black S-10 that I used as a trade in. This was the first day I had the truck and the dealer told me to bring the trade back whenever I got the Alpine stereo out of it so I had both trucks for a day. And unlike Ray's sig this IS MY truck. :)

Later,

Re: Steve's Big Black Truck

This was my trade-in. It was lowered 2" from the factory and I went down another 2 in the front and 3 in the back for a total 4/5 drop. And it had the coveted front and rear ZQ8 SWAY BARS (stock)!!!! It really did handle like a sporstcar. I loved it and I do miss it but according to the wife I needed something with a more useful back seat now that we have a daughter.... Who am I to argue?

Good lookin' truck Steve. I was lookin' at one the other day with the Supersport package. Really made me drool. My current Silverado is getting ready for a visit to the body shop. Seemed this buck didn't like the color. Maybe next year I trade her in. Hope you like the new toy!!

Yeah the SS was hot, they had an all black one where I bought this truck. $45K is a bit steep for a pickup, though!!! If you want to go fast you can buy a vette for that much! They had a 2003 Vette there new for $36,000!

Same year I got my license. 1986.
Sort of like Boston Whalers, they stopped making the classics in 1989.

A 1988-1989 911 is more valuable than a comparable 1991-1992...

:)

Ok so the S-10 probably didn't handle as good as THAT sportscar! :) Looks like it's a cream puff there, is it a showcar or a driver or both?

Re: Steve's Big Black Truck

nice rig Steve, looks like you were a real S-10 fanatic til ya sold out to the Leather Lined Barge crowd :p

Think that a 255-60-15 tire would fit on a 15x7 rim? overall height is the same as the 205 75 15, so the speedo would be accurate

By the way, pretty porsche, but lets see how well it corners with a dozen sheets of plywood on board

:p

(Of course, if ya drop the 930 Turbo in there, that Whale Tail would have quite a tale to tell! :D )

Re: Steve's Big Black Truck

Yeah I had a lot of sweat and paychecks in that S10. Great little truck. No complaints whatsoever. The silverado doesn't have leather so I'm not quite a sellout, just needed something bigger. It's still a pickup!!!

The 255 would probably fit on a 7" rim but it would be pushing it. I think a 225 or 235 is the widest 'recommended' tire for a 7" rim. I've seen a 305 mounted on an 8" rim. Never popped off but it sure looked like it could at any given moment.

Nice looking truck, for a Chevy that is. ;) I'm a Ford man myself, but I confess I've oggled a few of those Siverados. I hope I don't offend anyone here, but I think the Avalache is about the ugliest truck I've ever seen.
