88' 5.7 alpha- same boat im playing with carbs on, anyways ive suddenly lost spark and i havent had much luck figuring out why. in search for the problem i tried to pull the cap, very rusted screws so i pulled to whole dist out and after a lot of reverse drilling and wd40 i have 3 broken cap screws and a very crusty inner module.
what are the best options? ive seen the mallory and dui, or fixing the t-bolt??
thanks,russ

I would stick with the Thunderbolt. The complete distributor, cap, rotor, sensor assembly brand new is cheaper than the Mallory. Plus, the TB also keeps your wiring OEM which helps when selling. Also, as I recall, the Mallory distributors are still using the mechanical advance, where the TB is electronic.

All you need is the distributor, the distributor, cap and rotor are all the same.
You do NOT need to change the wiring harness or module. Just the distributor.
