Re: Sticking transducer
Mounting them is really pretty easy. You've already picked out your spot so that makes it even easier. Pull the transducer up out of the way and take an angle grinder (or 36 grit sandpaper on a block) and get all of the old junk out of there and give yourslelf a good clean section of glass to work with.

Next dam up an area in sort of a donut shape just an inch or two bigger around than your transducer. You can use modeling clay (craft store) or even Play Dough (Wal Mart) to make your dam. Next go buy yourself a quart of West Systems epoxy and a can of their regular set hardner. Mix up enough epoxy to fill the dammed off donut. Pour the mixed epoxy in and then place your transducer down in the pool. Tilt the transducer when you place it in the epoxy so that an air bubble can not form under its face. Find a way to brace the transducer to hold it so that its pointing straight down and then go away while the epoxy sets. You should be able to use the boat within just a couple of hours. When it comes time to remove the transducer you're gong to have to take a hammer and give it a pretty good wack from the side. Some transducer live through removal, some don't, but when that day comes you really won't care much anymore.

Thom
