hey guys, havent been on here for some time, figured this may help out. heres the details, picked up an 89 baylinder sunbridge project. rebuilt the motor 5.7 gm, and the wifes been working hard on the interior.almost ready to take it out, but Im having issues with the steering. heres what ive done
replaced pump, and bleed air out of system
removed steering cable and check for sticky or binding cables, slides freely,
cleaned ram tube for steering cable
greased fittings on gimble
took the power steering wrack off the gimble, and cleaned out what i could, removed hard metal lines and the valve inside? looks ok. had some old grease inside so i cleaned it off and re greased the fitting.
i have not taken the helm apart, since the cable moves really easy. didn't think the helm would be the issue. but hey, anything is possible right!
i have most of my family coming to visit next month and we are rushing to get this sucker finished by then, imma need both boats for every one! haha so any help would be much appreciated! thank you
