hello fellow bOATERS! i posted about this issue before but still am having problems. i have a 2004 ranger 185vs bassboat powered by a 150 mercury xrs
the problem is as before that the speedometer has quit working? now someone had replied to my original question and suggested looking for the pitoh hole@ the back of the lower unit on the motor. i have checked all over the lower unit and can find no such obvious hole? dumbfounded i vicariously blew air through any crevice i could find on the lower unit, but i could never get the speedo guage to move one bit. i got up under the dash and found the rubber tube that hooks up to the speedometer, but it has a special i assume factory fitting that holds it in place so i am afraid to take it off, because i may not be able to get it to stay on again. there has got to be a better way? i understand how the speedo works by converting water pressure to air pressure in the guage right? will there be any water in the line going to the guage? anymore ideas? are there any speedometers that are strictly electric instead of working on air/water pressure. could this hose everone tells me to look for be inside the lower unit? thanks to all that help.
