i just replaced the needle and seat on my 1969 chryler outboard 45 hp model 4545 but gas still comes out of the carb in the front where the choke shutter is. any ideas??
With needle and seat replaced,(float should have been adjusted then), your into pulling carbs again and looking at reeds. Conpression testors aren't costly and a must have for any DIY'er.
Most auto parts stores will loan you one.
Harbor Freight has the testers.Get a few inline spark testers while your at it(don't go cheap on these).
I bought some from Snap-On years ago and they finaly went. The cheap ones last about 1-2 uses.
Jerry, what goes bad on the Harbor Freight's Inline-Spark-Tester? Mine has worked 2-4 times so far (on lawn equipment experimenting. I might need to save it for needs. LOL. I w/h thought Snap-On would be replaced for Lifetime or Longtime.
