Still no luck

I have a 03 Reinell 200 LSE with the VP 5.0 GL motor. A couple weeks ago the alarm started going off in the boat. All gauges were reading fine, the oil pressure and temp gauge read normal. Nothing seemed out of place. I checked the oil level and it was fine. But still no luck of getting the alarm to go off. Something is triggering it and I believe it might be 1 of 3 things. I believe it maybe the water pump sensor, oil level sensor or the outdrive oil. I will be changing the out-drive oil on the boat first since it wont hurt to change it and it hasnt been changed out this year. Is there a recommendation of what brand to use to change the out-drive oil out with? I will then change the sensors out but I need help finding them. I cant seem to find a part number for the two sensors. Can someone assist with the numbers and where to possibility purchase them.

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... I don't do Volvos, But,....

There ain't no oil level alarm for the motor, just oil Pressure,...

Not sure on the drive,...

To Test, just unhook the alarm sensors,...

Thanks for the help and the information. I will be purchasing the sensors. Hopefully this solves the alarm problem.

I changed the drive lube oil today and still have the alarm going off. I will be heading to the marina tomorrow to see if they have the alarm sensors in stock. Online it shows it will take 2 weeks to mail. Is there a certain sensor I should start off with changing or should I just change them all?

dannys2004glastron175mx, On the link you provided above, it shows those sensors are for GL-F/FF engine. I was looking over the engine today and it states it is a GL-D. Are the sensors still the same on the F and D models?​

Yes they are the same part numbers for the sensors .

Don't buy any sensor yet . Start the engine and on plug one sensor at a time . When the alarm stops . Your problem will be that sensor.. Its most likely the 872066

Nothing about the drive oil would cause an alarm to go off. There are 4 alarm sensors:
Engine oil pressure
Engine water/coolant temperature
2x Exhaust riser temperature (one for each riser)

Each sensor has a wire going to it with a spade terminal. This wire is a ground wire for the alarm. When the sensor gets to a preset temperature, it closes a circuit internally and grounds the alarm which causes it to sound. Unplug one sensor wire at a time to find which one is causing the problem.

skydiveD30571, Thanks for the information and advise. I went and started unplugging one sensor at a time. Got to the engine water/coolant temperature sensor (i believe this is the sensor) and unplugged it and the alarm stopped. It is the sensor that is up front of the engine near the alternator. I believe the part number is 872066. I will see if the marinas around here have the part in stock and will switch it out. Thanks everyone for the advise.

If you plan to use the boat while you wait for a new sensor, you can either trust your temperature gauge as it reads normal, or get yourself a cheap little infared thermometer and check the block temperature yourself just to be sure the gauge is correct.
