still no spark !!

I am still not getting any spark. I have checked the whole boat over and can't find any kind of emergency kill switch.<br />I haven't had the power pack apart yet, but I am getting continuity (spelling???) from the power line into the points to <br />ground. Even when I opened the points, I have continuity to ground. Am I missing something? Do I have a short in <br />power pack? I don't have a manual with wiring diagram for that year of motor. Any suggestions? Thanks Adam

If you dont have a manual, find an old guy that works on tractors, he has probley repaired a few mags. The round thing that contain the points has one wire comming out the side of it, this wire goes to the switch, to stop the engine, may be shorted. Disconnect this wire, and test for spark. One side of points grounded to case, other side of points connected to coil inside case, condensor, and wire going to switch. Points have to be spotless. Coil inside of case probley shorted.
