i recently posted about my troubles with my 25 ft pontoon ( on 8-10 ) and was rewarded with an answer from wallyehed. i agree with his statement that a toon with a 90 could not turn 6500 and my tach must be bad so i borrowed a tach and got the same reading. does this mean that the trigger signal is wrong. and what sends the signal? sorry to re-post but i could not figure out how to move the original post back to the top.

it's a 1999 mercury 90 hp. don't know what the tach is can't see a name on it. it came with the suntracker boat as original equipment.

OK, let's go this route....
What tach did you borrow, and what was it set on?
There are a few manufacturers and few use the same setting.
