I currently own a 1989 celebrity 199 bowrider. Absolutely love the boat. We use it on Green bay and lake michigan and it handles extremely well as it is a heavy deep vee. Have a chance to upgrade(?) to a 1995 sting ray cuddy. I believe it is a 595 but not sure. It is 21' long. How does a sting ray compare to a celebrity or four winns. Are they hearvy boats and will it handle bigger water like green bay or lake michigan. Any opinions would help me significantly as I don't know that much about sting ray. Thank you

Stingray hulls are generally meant for speed not so much for comfort, they hate anything more than a 1 inch wave :) Atleast that is what I have been told and from the test ride I believe it. Great in the cove with very smooth water, out in the open, holy crap hang on.

Re: Stingray Boats?

I had a 1967 V20 for about 8 years. It was an old boat but it handled the waves in lake Erie just fine. I got caught up in some 4 to 6 footers one time and got out of them. I won't do that again unless the boat is over 60'! :D

Like TD sez, try em before buying,,,,that takes a lot of guess work out of some questions...........SS

Re: Stingray Boats?

Thanks for your help. I took another look at the sting ray and I think I'm gonna stick with the celebrity for the time being. Just really like the look and ride of it. Until something comes along that I can't pass up I will continue to be a celebrity owner.
