On vacation and taking the boat out everythings fine then outta nowhere the engine just dies on me. I still had electrical power just rpms dropped to 0. I tried restarting and it would not, so I next tried choke till I got it to turn over....around 3/4 choke it turns over up to 3krpms then back down to zero. Same result even at full choke.

The boat is being looked at tomorrow and might have to be taken to a marina. Does anyone have an idea what might be causing the problem? I'm thinking its something with the fuel system.

That is typical of a carb that has very little fuel in it, what remaining dregs are pulled out and the engine gets a burst of air/fuel it can burn then nothing.

Post what model engine you have. The problem can be anything from a failed relay or broken wire to a clogged filter or failed fuel pump.

The motor is a 3.0 135HP SX.

Earlier today I removed flame arrestor off carb and seen that fuel was flowing when throttle pumped, but had it taken to a marina to determine the problem. It started up, but ran rough at idle....eventually gave out when nearing trailer. Lucky I made it.
