Re: Stock Props Question

If it is a Mercury prop, there will be a number starting with 48-******XX P?? located between the blades. Since no propeller is shipped with the engine from Merc, some manufacturer, or dealer put a prop on it. You can take the prop off
and read a number like 13 X 17 with indicates the diameter (13) and the pitch (17).
Backfire ;)

Re: Stock Props Question

Thank you very much Backfire. You were right. The prop is 13 X 19. I found the 48 number went to Mercury's website and matched the number. It is a Black Max at $155 not bad.
Thanks again,
Youngboater

Re: Stock Props Question

That's a pretty high pitch prop for a 75 HP motor, it must be installed on a pretty light boat.

If not, I would check my max. rpms, you may need to re-prop with a 17 or possibly a 15 pitch.
