Stolen Outdrive

Well , I never thought it would happen to me.......some SOB stole the newly rebuilt Cobra outdrive off of my 4.3L conversion!! <br /> Does anyone out there know where I might get a used one at?<br />I already tried E... with no luck.<br />Please help! I am chomping at the bit to get on the water.<br />Thanks

Man, that sucks! Hope you had insurance. They come and go on E all the time. Good luck.

That really does suck, not sure if they sell them here at iboats but a company called Mcgard makes locks for I/O', outboards and props, I have one on each of my Cobra's. My insurance company actually makes it a requirement so I even took pictures after they were installed....good luck with finding a replacement at least the 4.3 should still be fairly common.

Thanks for the support guys. Sad , but I didn't have insurance on it yet. Figured didn't need it til I got the dang thing in the water. Go figure!<br /> <br />Ohhhh well , just cross my fingers I can come across one on Ebay I guess. Can't afford the 3000.00 right now for one from Iboats.(Wish I could though).

if it was at your home, your homeowners insurance may cover it. doesnt hurt to check.

People steal drive units when the boat is on the water? That seems.. well.. difficult.

Stealing ain't easy.But when this happens,the boat sinks.If you can fix it,you're plagued with all sorts of future problems (mostly electrical).Years ago had a customer loose a V6 Evinrude (on land) to theft.Do you realize how heavy one of those are?<br /><br />DHP

RR,<br />If you find a lower unit that you can afford, I have an upper that is just sitting on a shelf (damaged lower and just got a complete replacement on Ebay). From what I can tell, it is still in good condition. I was gonna "parts it out" on Ebay but I would rather help an iboats member in need first.
