Is it ok to store this boat this way? Is there any reason to worry about any structural damage to the boat?

It should be fine if the slings are properly located. All boats have a "right" way to lift them. Most have a wrong way to lift them. It it is lifted wrong it can/will cause damage especially considering it may be hanging in the slings for an extended period.

The slings need to be located where there is sufficient structure in the hull. Either were there is a bulkhead or other structure that will properly carry the weight of the boat.

Consult with Chaparral regarding the lift points/sling points.

Why would you want to? You might have good enough support to support the boat to lift out of the water and put on stands, but I sure wouldn't want to let it hang there for winter storage,
Besides that, who has a travel lift at their disposal to let a boat hang on all winter.

When on blocks, the back corners are on the stands or blocks. That is where the most support is. Straps are pulling in on the sides and not under the trasnsom at all.

Well I'd be storing it on slings under a boathouse. The marina where I keep mine only has slings for dry storage. But the boat gets a good bit of use during the winter anyways. However you're right that this would be the permanent storage method, so if it's not a good idea then I'll stick with my current boat. One of my concerns is that the beam of the boat is pretty wide (9'6"), which doesn't help the cause for keeping weight off the sides of the boat.

I wouldn't do it. I saw a person in a 24 foot 4 winns open bow break his windshield using a on the water strap lift. It stressed the sides enough that it pushed them together and squeezed the frame of the center window enough to break the glass.

Why not sling it up and then slide supports under it to drop the boat onto?

Sorry, would not keep a boat stored on slings indefinitely. I'd at least be lowering it onto blocks/stands until it was time to move it again.

I realize that, but there are several lifting systems that support from the bottom instead of through sling straps. Whether on submersible pontoons, or cable-driven frames, it's still better than straps.

Ayuh,... Agreed,.... A hull Bed, probably of steel that the boat is floated over, 'n then cabled or slung from the outside ends/ edges of the Bed...
It'd lift from the transom/ keel, without any Squeeze factor....

Welcome Aboard txhorns0508,... Where there's a Will,... We'll find a Way.....

Any pictures,..??

I've seen boats to 100' lifted by straps / crane. As fast as that slooooooow moving thing can get to the storage area where work will begin they are blocked up.
