Storing my boat in a out door storage thinking ?????

Going to take off lower unit should I do any thing to the lower part of the out board that is on the boat. ..should I lube the out board cables it's a 96-120 force just got the boat is there a a quick mount release for trolling motors thanks for any help this site rocks p.s is there a way to lock the lower unit In place. Thanks B.Trent cincy
