strange drain hose

I have a 1986 Bassmaster 16' and it has a clear hose that runs from the front of the boat near the control panel and T's into the front livewell discharge hole. I guess this is factory and a good idea I might add. It channel's all the water that might get in around the control panel out instead of into the bottom of the boat. Has anyone else run into this on their or anyone's boat?

Yep, that's what it is. Many boats also have these in drink holders or any item that can retain water.
