I'll be installing an 8' bimini on my bowrider where I have to mount it on the side of the boat due to no horizontal space available. I'm a little concerned about how much vertical force these mount points will experience.

I'm considering using 3M 5200 under these mounts to help with handling the load. I didn't check yet but there might be access from the other side to perhaps use a stud and bolt instead of screws.

Attaching a picture of where the middle mount will go.

Thanks

My input
First can you access those areas from below in a manner that you can attach them with support plates or large stainless washers and nuts on the back side. If not I have used wire to pull a nut and washer in place with silicone allowed it to cure and then bolted through panels. Ive managed some unbeleavable installs this way but it takes patience because it can be two plus days before you can actually assemble it and some fishing to get it to work alway do a test run before gluing it in place. The way to do that is to cut a longer bolts head off clean the threads up so it will run through your nut Easily with no drag drill your hole just large enough that the bolt will pull through with a wrap of thin wire around the bolts threads With a bead of silicone on the nut and washer but not so much it will get on the threads of the nut and bolt pull the contraption through the hole from the outside let them cure and then carefully start and run down your bracket and screws until tight with enough silicone to seal the hole and coat the threads acting like lock tight. This should be more than adequate for your top.

next make sure you locate that bracket where it will not snag on people or fishing line if you fish much that looks like a real skin ripper and I can see fishing line hanging on it and breaking. I fish for salmon and a $200 fish today being lost on that bracket isnt appealing to me.

I'd say that the attachment tubing adapters are/would be cast Zinc or plastic. Considering the die down stresses, I wouldn't vertical mount; but that's me.

the 5200 wont add any strength

make sure to put a backer on there. the fiberglass will handle the load, however over time without a backer, you will be flexing the gel enough to have stress cracks. the backer will help eliminate the stress cracks.
